It’s officially the last weekend of August, and that means precious little time to get your “Frosé All Day” on before it’s banished from the menus until next summer. If you haven’t had the pleasure of indulging in a glass before, let me break it down for you- it’s frozen rosé. Hence, frosé. Clever, I know. As someone that could drink fruity, frozen drinks all day, everyday, I’m a pretty big fan of its ubiquitous presence all over the city every year. There are tons of places that serve it, but I’ve gathered my five favorites based on both the drink and overall atmosphere of where it’s served. So here we go!
The Hampton Social– I don’t know if Hampton Social was the first place to serve frosé, but it’s become synonymous with the summer drink. It’s got the perfect added sweetness thanks to peach puree that’s also mixed in. The main selling point? Well, that’s obviously the ability to hold it in front of the iconic “Rosé All Day” wall. (I clearly failed here.)
Shore Club– Is there a more perfect ambiance than sipping a glass of frosé while looking out over Lake Michigan and North Avenue beach? Definitely not. The frosé here is strikingly similar to that of Hampton Social, but they edge out the former thanks to the addition of a mini umbrella and peach ring in every drink. What can I say? I’m a sucker for gummi candy.
St. Lou’s Assembly– St. Lou’s is one of the unsung heroes of our previous neighborhood. It flies under the radar compared to the big-name restaurants that line restaurant row, but it was smart enough to get in on the frosé train and attract the local basic b’s. The whole vibe of St. Lou’s is understated cool so sipping one of these on their gravel patio makes you feel way edgier than you (okay, at least me) actually are.
The Beach House Social– Formerly Mahalo, The Beach House Social is owned by the same restaurant group as The Hampton Social. The drinks are served in a different glass, but it’s basically the same drink. However, it’s still worth the trip just to hang out on the impeccably decorated rooftop!
The Gringo– Our newest neighborhood spot! It’s not nearly as well-known as the others on this list, but it’s such a cute little spot. I’m psyched to have a great Mexican restaurant so close to us, and the fact they serve frosé?! Bonus.
I know there are so many more places that serve frosé, but I haven’t made it to them all! Do you have any favorites? Let me know here or over on my IG!
