I tried for years to find a good faux leather jacket that I could wear for nights out and milder Chicago temperatures. I bought and returned a few over the years after feeling like they were too biker or tough girl chic (is that a thing?) for me. I knew I wanted a jacket that had structure but was soft enough to appear feminine with the right accessories.
I had never considered a genuine leather jacket due to the price tag, but I tried this one on a whim and fell in love. The drapey neckline compliments my broad shoulders, but the zipper details on the wrist give it a small edge. I also love that there are stretchy panels lining both sides that give it some stretch and make it easier to move in. I think sometimes you just have to go for the splurge if it means you’re getting an item you’ll really wear for a long time. That being said, I still feel like this jacket makes me look way cooler than I actually am, but I’ll take it.
