It’s no secret that I love shopping for a fall wardrobe. I’m all about layers, big scarves, and cozy sweaters, and I’m pretty sure I could shop for those items forever. However, I also don’t think a fall wardrobe needs to be complicated. Most days I get dressed I find myself reaching for the same 5 items, and I think these 5 pieces will help you build the perfect fall wardrobe.
Great Neutral Coat– I’ve talked about my love for J. Crew’s cocoon coat before, and I still think it’s one of the best neutral coats around. I have the Factory version, and it’s always my go-to coat as the temps start to drop. I also love this one, this one, and this one.
Big, Cozy Sweater- I’m all about buying oversized sweaters and layering them over leggings, jeans, and yoga pants. You honestly can’t go wrong. I tend to prefer neutral sweaters, but I like when they have some added texture or detail. I love marled gray, cableknit, and pretty much anything with a tie or zipper. Sadly, my sweater is sold out, but I love this one, this one, and this one.
Perfect Skinny Jean– I’ve tried a bunch of different skinny jeans over the years, and I’m not convinced you need to break the bank to get a good pair. The pair I’m wearing here is from Madewell, but it’s their Roadtripper jean which is about half the cost of their other styles. I’d say it’s more of a jegging (are those still a thing?), but still has normal pockets and zip fly. They’re a little short on me, but I like how they look with boots. My other favorite skinny jeans can be found here, here, and here.
Classic boot– I just wrote a post all about the perfect fall boot. I’m obsessed with these booties from Madewell, and they go with everything. I’m not necessarily a “shoe girl” in terms of having a large collection. That would honestly just stress me out and take me even longer to get ready in the morning. I think having one amazing pair of boots to take you from fall to spring is the best way to go. The price range for boots can obviously vary widely, but you can find good options for under $100 here, here, and here.
Blanket Scarf– I own way too many scarves, but this one might be my favorite. I highly recommend Anthropologie’s blanket scarf as it’s generally affordable and holds up well. Plus, the color options are on point. Some of my other favorites include this one, this one, and this one.
There you have it! The formula for the perfect fall wardrobe. What’s your fall dressing philosophy?
