I can’t say this is the most earth-shattering outfit of all time, but it’s a good representation of my weekend uniform. I’m definitely a more casual dresser, and I’m not sure I own any pants that aren’t jeans. My favorite part of Chicago weather is that it allows for layering almost year-round. The gray and white ruffled cardigan I’m wearing is one of my favorites from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale two years ago, and the jacket, bag, and boots were purchases from last year’s sale. (Can you tell I tend to stock up during that one?) I swear by Loft jeans because their skinny fit works for my body type (get the “Curvy” style if you’re lucky enough to have a butt), and I can always get them at an amazing price point. If I’m being honest, these boots are a “heel” for me as I can tolerate almost nothing, but they give me a little boost when I’m going out.
When I had my first blog a few years ago, I was guilty of constantly trying to create unique outfits or outfits that I saw on other bloggers. A graphic tee and heels? Flannel button down with a sparkly skirt? How about a tutu? I tried it all and, in the end, I knew it just wasn’t me. I’m the most comfortable in my weekend uniform basics, but I try to personalize it with a colorful or patterned shoe, scarf, or earring. Oh- and leopard is definitely a neutral.
